Many of us that dream about “making it” in the competitive world of fishing started when we were kids. Then we fine-tune our skills fishing for pleasure prior to joining the ranks of the tournament anglers. Over the past ten years, I have honed my skills in the fishing world by making numerous trips to Canada for the excellent bass and muskie fishing, and will continue to do so in the future. One can never get enough of those days when the loons are calling, the air smells clean and the fish are biting.
Competitive fishing began for me in 2001 as a Co-angler in the Minnesota Pro/Am Bass Tour.
During the tournaments, I make it a point to connect with local media sources to promote the sport of bass fishing and tournaments in general. I am an avid promoter of catch and release, and enjoy making the public aware that professionals like myself and others are here to protect the natural resources available.
My goal is to actively promote the sport of angling and the benefits of the resources we have at our disposal in my region. I cannot do this without sponsor support.
I realize a sponsor must receive something for their investment. I see this as an angler’s responsibility to sell as much of the sponsor’s product as possible. When you really think about it, our job is to drive product off the dealer’s shelf or into their stores and into the consumer’s tackle box or hands. I can do this.
I would entertain the option of promoting your product(s) by means of handing out coupons, decals, or samples of your products at all the events I fish and at any in-store promotions or seminars I do. I will also take every advantage to showcase you, as a sponsor, within the media at every opportunity I generate. I have enclosed a breakdown of different levels of participation.
The Fishing market in the region I’m in is very diverse and one of the best in the country. The business of promoting your products and services must be aggressive if they are to establish and maintain a foothold here. Working together we can do that.
